The constitution as a binding document for internal rules
Self-organization offers open space for each member of the organization. Nevertheless, a framework is needed that is binding for everyone. In self-organization, this is solved by the so-called constitution – a document containing the binding rules of cooperation.
We met with one of our clients for three interactive workshops to work with the entire organization to define content, refine the wording of the text and develop a self-written framework for collaboration in self-organized teams across the department. In this way the individual wishes, culture and special features of the department could be incorporated. The result was an authentic constitution which everyone could identify with.
