Update of UAE standards logo and conformity marks

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has recently published a draft amendment to conformity marks and logos.

The draft regulation covers various aspects such as national product conformity marks and logos for national standards.

The affected conformity marks and logos pertain to consumer products and their certificates. Before most products can be placed on the Arab market, they must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC), holding a logo from the MoIAT. The product conformity mark then needs to be affixed to the product and packaging. Both the designs for the logo on the certificates and the product conformity mark have now been revised.

The logos for “compliant”, “biodegradable” and “verified” have been completely updated. New logos for the product classes “Eco” and “Free Range Chicken” have been created. Furthermore, the logos for energy efficiency and environmental performance certificates have been revised. In general, the new logos were designed with a simple and uniform design.

This design revision follows the updating of TDRA (Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority) labels and conformity marks on telecommunications equipment and certificates, which were updated at the beginning of 2023.

The proposed date of entry into force and implementation by companies has not yet been determined. The text of this decree can be viewed HERE.
