Further harmonization with the EU product law

Serbia updated several regulations implementing the EU law. Moreover, the new Serbian Rulebook on Personal Protective Equipment has been published.

Recently in the Serbian Official Gazette (No. 21/2020), Serbia published amendments to several regulations implementing the EU product law (see link).  The amended regulations, which transpose EU product directives to the Serbian law are, among others:

  • the Rulebook on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) (implementing the Directive 2014/30/EU)
  • Rulebook on the Electrical Equipment Intended for Use within Certain Voltage Limits (LVD)  (implementing the Directive 2014/35/EU)
  • Machinery Safety Rulebook (implementing the Directive 2006/42/EC)

So far, Serbia has recognized the EU product regulations and technical requirements but has required Serbian Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) for the products in scope.  Starting from 1 January 2022, CE marking will be sufficient to demonstrate compliance with EMC and LVD Rulebooks.

Moreover, the Rulebook on Personal Protective Equipment, has been published (“Official Gazette of RS” No 23/2020).  It is harmonized with all the principles and relevant requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council on Personal Protective Equipment.  The official text in Serbian can be accessed under the link: official text
