Technical Regulation for hydrogen vehicles

Saudi Arabia published a draft Technical Regulation for hydrogen vehicles

The Technical Regulation specifies, among others supplier obligations, labelling, conformity assessment procedures, lists of standards, hydrogen component list as well as safety requirements.

Basically, the Regulation contains mostly the same technical requirements as applicable for regular non-hydrogen vehicles.  Obviously, it additionally contains standards referring to the “hydrogen” aspects of vehicles and to fueling stations.  They are based on the international ISO standards.

The proposed date of adoption is 14 January 2022 and the proposed date of entry into force six months after publication in the official gazette.

The text of the Regulation is available only in Arabic so far.
