New harmonized toy safety standards

The EU Commission published a list of new harmonized standards for the Toy Safety Directive.

The European Commission published the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/867 to announce an updated complete list of harmonized standards in support of Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC. The new version of standards EN 71-7:2014+A3:2020, EN 71-12:2016 and EN IEC 62115:2020 and its amendment EN IEC 62115:2020/A11:2020 are now listed as the harmonized standards under the Toy Safety Directive.

The standards concern, respectively:

– Finger paints — Requirements and test methods

– N-Nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances

– Safety of electric toys
