Indian BIS certification for wheel rims postponed

The Indian BIS certification for wheel rims will be postponed until 21 March 2022.

A couple of months ago we informed about the planned BIS certification for vehicle wheel rims in India (see our Insight), which was supposed to come into force in September 2021. However, according to the recent information, it will be postponed.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises of India issued on 28 May 2021 the Automobile Wheel Rim Component (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2021 to further amend the existing Automobile Wheel Rim Component (Quality Control) Order, 2020.

The new Order amends the previous one by changing the date of entry into force for 21 March 2022. Besides, no further changes are made.
