Consolidated INMETRO regulation for tyres

A new INMETRO Ordinance which consolidates all technical requirements for tyres was published recently in Brazil.

The regulation in question is the INMETRO Ordinance No. 379 of 14 September 2021 published by the Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology – Inmetro.  It revokes all the existing regulations for tyres (there were about ten of them) and consolidates their requirements in one legal act.

The Ordinance contains technical requirements, testing procedures, as well as certification and marking requirements for tyres in Brazil.

Tyres are one of several automotive product categories which are covered by the Brazilian INMETRO conformity assessment system.  To find out more about it, do not hesitate to contact our EFS Product Compliance Team.
