New Chinese standard for external lighting devices
New Chinese Standard GB 4785-2019 has been published
The new standard for installation of the external lighting devices for motor vehicles and their trailers was introduced by the Chinese Authorities and will enter into force by the 1st of July 2020.
It stipulates new technical requirements for lighting and light-signaling devices. Daytime running lamps will become mandatory for motor vehicles. The new requirements will be based on UNECE Regulation No. 48 and will also be applicable for maneuvering lamps, cornering lamps, conspicuity marking, rear-end collision alert signals (RECAS) and adaptive front lighting systems (AFS).
The standard will replace the existing GB 4785-2015 and become effective on the 1 July 2020.
