New INMETRO Ordinance for vehicle safety glass
INMETRO published a new regulation for safety glass for vehicles in Brazil
The Brazilian INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology Standardization and Industrial Quality) has published a new Ordinance for vehicle safety glass. It consolidates the currently existing Technical Quality Regulations and Conformity Assessment Requirements for Automotive Safety Glasses.
The Ordinance lays down, among other things, technical and marking requirements as well as the certification procedure for vehicle safety glass.
At the same time, it revokes the following ordinances: Inmetro Ordinance 156 of 4 June 2009, Inmetro Ordinance 157 of 4 June 2009, Inmetro Ordinance 246 of 30 May 2011, Inmetro Ordinance 247 of 30 May 2011, Inmetro Ordinance 401 of 01 August 2012, Inmetro Ordinance 41 of 19 January 2018 and item XI of art. 7 and item XI of Article 8 of Ordinance Inmetro No. 282 of 26 August 2020.
The Ordinance is coming into force on 1 March 2021.
