Central African Republic launches a new PVoC program
A Pre-Verification of Conformity (PVoC) of Imported Goods to the Central African Republic (CAR) is expected to start in March 2021.
The program is similar to those in several other African countries. It consists of conformity assessment services for exporters of goods to the CAR performed by an external accredited agency to verify and confirm that those products meet relevant national and/or international quality standards.
Only products that meet relevant regulations and standards are issued a Certificate of Conformity, which must be shown to the Customs agency upon shipment arrival at ports of entry before goods are released to the importer.
The list of affected products covers, among others: Industrial equipment and machinery, electrical and electronic products, telecommunications products, motor vehicles and parts, toys, and many others.
