New radio equipment regulation in Moldova
The Moldovan government’s Decision # 34 of 30 January 2019 containing the Technical Regulation on the placing of radio equipment on the market is coming into force in February.
The Technical Regulation partially transposes the EU RED Directive (Directive 2014/53/EU) into Moldovan law. It sets out essential requirements for radio equipment placed on the market, obligations of manufacturers and importers, conformity assessment procedures, market supervision requirements etc.
It further contains new labelling requirements for the radio equipment:
- Manufacturers must not affix both the SM conformity mark and the CE marking to the same radio equipment anymore.
- The labelling is carried out during the manufacturing process. Radio equipment manufacturers can decide to apply either the SM mark or the CE mark only on equipment produced after February 22, 2021.
- Stocks of products which had previously been approved by the authority and manufactured and labelled before 22 February 2021 can still be placed on the market.
