Amendment of Chilean regulation for electric vehicles
Chile is considering amendments to its regulation establishing technical requirements for electric vehicles.
Chile plans to modify the Decree No. 145 of 2017, of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications which establishes technical, construction and safety requirements for electric vehicles (Decreto N° 145 de 2017 del Ministerio de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones, que “Establece requisitos técnicos, constructivos y de seguridad para vehículos eléctricos”).
Among the changes are:
- Incorporation of the Chinese standard GB/T 20234 Connection set for conductive charging of electric vehicles – Part 1
- Incorporation of the IEC 62196 communication protocol
- Establishment of specification and accreditation requirements for the travel charger
- Establishment of the information requirements that vehicles must carry and the provision of safety information for the high voltage circuit
