ANATEL Resolution 715
Update of Conformity Assessment and Approval Processes for Telecommunications Products in Brasil
On the 25th of October 2019 ANATEL (Brazilian National Telecommunication Agency) published an information about the ANATEL Resolution 715, which updates conformity assessment and approval processes for telecommunication products. The new regulation will replace the Resolutions 242/2000 and 323/2002 six months after its publication.
The major changes are as follows:
- New technical requirements per product type or family of products will be released, which will specify conformity assessment procedures. Product Category Lists (I, II, III) will be discontinued.
- Technical rules will be defined in “Operational Procedures”.
- Imported telecommunication products for commercial use must already hold the ANATEL logo and ID number before entering the Brazilian Market. Exceptions are mentioned in the “Operational Procedures”.
- Fees will be only applicable for certification. The homologation fee will be discontinued.
Further changes and procedures are outlined in the resolution and will also be developed until the final implementation of the resolution on the 22nd of April 2020.
