Saudi Arabian RoHS

Saudi Arabia published Technical Regulation for Reducing Hazardous Materials in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).

The Regulation aims to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, and to define conformity assessment procedures to which suppliers must adhere.

The Regulation contains, inter alia, the following: terms and definitions, scope, supplier obligations, conformity assessment procedures and violations and penalties.

The regulation will be implemented after six months from the publication date, which is January 9, 2022, and for products which are already on the market 1 year from the publication date.
