ISO on net zero expected to launch at COP30
After launching the ISO Net Zero Guidelines at COP27 in Egypt in 2022, which included best practices, the new ISO net zero standard will give companies the possibility to get verified.
Thousands of experts from more than 170 countries will work together to create the new ISO net zero standard, taking into account the latest climate science. Additionally, the requirements will guard against greenwashing.
The aim is to provide an international standard, which is suitable for organizations of all sizes, sectors and geographies.
The process was launched on June 27th, 2024 at the London Climate Action Week. Later in 2025, a public consultation will be held to ensure the participation of the broader public.
