Approaches to product compliance vary greatly from country to country. The EU largely relies on a trust-based system with market surveillance controls, while China enforces a strict system that requires official tests and audits. This contrasts with the USA, which has a decentralised system and mainly private certification systems. Other countries also show the heterogeneity of product compliance systems, varying between national certifications and no requirements at all.
