Amendments to UNECE Regulations

Amendments to 28 UNECE Regulations announced 

On February 28th, 2020, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, as part of their 180th session in Geneva, published prospective amendments to selected regulations of the 1958 Agreement.  

Subject to amendments are UNECE regulations 0, 16, 21, 29, 43, 44, 48, 53, 55, 58, 67, 74, 80, 83, 85, 86, 98, 107, 112, 113, 115, 116, 123, 129, 135, 148, 149 and 150. 

The revisions of the UNECE include but are not limited to the following product groups: safety belts, interior fittings, safety glazing, headlamps, anti-theft systems and light-signaling devices.  In most cases, single sentences or paragraphs of the regulations are replaced or rephrased.  All details on each amendment are available for reading on the UNECE website. 

The amendments are scheduled to enter into force on May 29th, 2020.
